For science Te Poutama have been changing classes. Room 17 have been going to Mrs Greens class.We have been looking at fire and flames. The experiment we have been doing is what I will be explaining. First we got into groups of five then my group nominated Tu to go get the gear that we needed this it includes,a can sized 250ml,mentholated spirits in a little glass container,a tripod with a net on top and that is all we used. We lighted the mentholated spirit and put some water in our can. As we watched the can heat up we heard bubbling! Once steam started coming out the top of the can we knew it was time for Mrs Green to flip the can over into ice and water and then the can crushed! This happens when the vacuum gets to powerful for the can and then when it hit the water it instantly crushed! Here are some photos to show the before and after product.
